As Colton Mercer observed the scene, he had to admit that it seemed pretty surreal to him. The young man had never expected something like this to happen to him so soon in life. If it ever happened at all. In the past year Colton had experienced quite a bit. Some of it good, some of it bad. But it all seemed to revolve around one person. The one person who was always there, unfailingly. She was the only reason he was sitting there, breathing air into his lungs. There were multiple times when the young man had been on the brink of death, but always she brought him back. Eden Lucitania was everything to him as he was everything to her. Something he'd come to learn the hard way. And as much as he'd gone through, she'd been there right by his side. It didn't matter if he was addicted to drugs or dying of cancer, she hadn't left him. This mere fact was one that he held in high esteem. She'd had so many opportunities to just walk away or to give up on him completely. And if she had, he wouldn't be in this room at this moment, watching as his friends mingled, alcohol in hand. Bright hazel eyes saw little of what they were taking in as his mind was elsewhere, with the lovely lady who was currently in a hotel room of her own. He was brought out of his reverie as someone began to talk to him, rambling things about how lucky he was and how he couldn't wait for the special surprise that would be coming later in the evening. Colton was not an idiot. He knew what this 'special surprise' was. Unlike most men, he wasn't all that enthusiastic about it. Sure, it was tradition, but he'd never been one to stick to something like that. In fact, this whole shindig hadn't even been his idea. A certain Alex Solstice had decided to set it all up. Colt had been more than happy to let his friend go through with the plans. He honestly didn't care whether he had a bachelor party or not. While it was true that this was his last night as a bachelor, he couldn't help but feel that the following day wasn't going to be changing all that much in his and Eden's relationship. While it was true that he would be able to say that she was his and there was nothing anyone could do about it, it didn't mean that he was going to be feeling any different about her. He'd known that he loved her from the very second he'd seen her beautiful chocolate eyes. This was more showing the legal world that they were willing to stick it out till the end. Still, he had to admit that he was little nervous. Marriage was a big milestone in someone's life. And any way you looked at it, he was among the very few who would take such a leap at his age. But Colton knew him and Eden enough to know that this would only strengthen their bond.
A knock on the door sent a smirk to his lips. He already knew who it was before Alex let her in. Assessing the rather slutty attire and sexy smirk that she wore, his suspicions were confirmed. But young Colton had no intention of entertaining this stripper. As she was lead over to him, he pulled himself up into a standing position from where he had been on the couch. "I believe the guy you're looking for is right over there." He said, pointing to Alex's identical twin. Kellan happened to be lodged in a chair and as she moved on him, he had no time to get up before she was shoving him down again. Even if what he'd done was probably not morally right, Colton couldn't help a laugh at the scene. Poor Kellan had no way of telling her that he was, in fact, not the groom. And all of the other young men in the hotel room seemed to find this situation too entertaining to set her straight. In all of the hoopla that this created, Colt found his chance to exit the room quietly. This whole scene was just not his and so he was off down the hall and into the elevator. He would much rather spend this time to himself, thinking on what tomorrow would really mean for him. Before he even knew where he was going, his feet took him to a place that had taken on new meaning to him in the last year. His mind wandered back to that fateful day that had changed his life for good. A genuine smile crossed his lips at the memory and he let himself drown in it as he walked, barely paying attention to the present at all.

Eden Lucitania had a hard time fathoming where she was from where she'd been. A year ago... she'd been in Italy, completely unaware of the life that lay ahead of her. A year ago, she'd been so comfortable with the fact that her future was undecided, that it didn't even bother her that she was entering a world filled with unknown variables that could change at any moment. Eden, however, had her work cut out for her. She truthfully was one of the luckiest people in the world, because she had come across the most magnificent and perfect person without even having to try. Eden was so lucky, despite all of the bad things that had happened, because it had brought them both out better people and closer and more devoted to each other. Eden Lucitania could not imagine living in a world without Colton Mercer in it. She was eternally tied to him as he was tied to her, and finally they were showing everyone about it. Getting married... just the thought sent a thrill of several emotions through her. Nervousness, love, anticipation, excitement, adoration, relief. Finally, everyone would see that Eden was totally Colton's, and he was totally hers. Of course, it wasn't like they didn't already act that way. They spent ever waking moment together, especially since Colton had recovered from his cancer. The thought of it, the horrible trial he had gone through, and the one she had gone through from watching him... it sobered her quickly, and left her feeling slightly serious. But then she'd remember the fact that he was still here. That he was living, breathing, and loving her. And just like that, she realized once more just how lucky she was. Eden could never imagine living without Colton, and getting married was just another thing that would tie them together, that would show people, those that doubted the intensity and sincerity of their love, just how serious they were about it.
It was the day before the wedding, and she had been a little surprised when her friend Ava had popped up outside her apartment, telling her to wear something casual but nice because they were going out. Eden was then blindfolded, and driven to some unknown location, and ushered into some building with people. When the blindfold was pulled off, there were a bunch of her friends, and Eden quickly deduced that this was something similar to what Kellan and Alex Solstice dragged Colton off to earlier. A bachelorette party, she was quickly told it was. After a little bit of drinking (on everyone else's part - ever since a bad mishap a while ago, she stopped accepting alcohol) and talking, she was suddenly told she had a 'surprise' waiting for her. A pair of hands covered her eyes and when they were taken off of her, a huge cake had been wheeled into the room. Music started, some fast paced beat, and suddenly the cake bursted. Eden's chocolated eyes widened, quite considerably, as pieces of cake fell around her, and on her. Suddenly, a man wearing... well... a man thong, came out of the cake. Eden was shocked. She didn't even know what to do. She wasn't even sure what this was. Who ordered a half naked man for this? Was this custom? Was this a joke she was missing? Eden might have pondered more had the man suddenly not suddenly started grinding on her. Eden scooted as far back into the chair as she could, but it wasn't far enough. She could hear people laughing, but she wasn't finding this very funny. More like... shocking and slightly disgusting. Eden's dark eyes darted around, her face red, as she searched for anything to provide a way out for her. Her eyes landed on some cake laying nearby, and she leaned down and picked it up, before reaching over to the man and pulling out the underwear and dropping it promptly down his pants. The man's expression probably appeared just as shocked as her's was when she had first saw him. This provided enough of a distraction, as several very eager women rushed towards the man to help clean him up, for her to dart out of the room at almost a dead run. She ran to the elevator, but then decided to take the stairs. She was out of the hotel and into the fresh air faster than most people might consider humanly possible, but Eden was nothing less than relieved. She allowed her feet to take her wherever, conscious of the fact that she'd left her purse with everything in it back at the hotel. No matter. Eden was fine with walking around for a while. Before she knew it, her feet had taken her to a very familiar park, one that brought a smile to her face. This park was very special. Eden was looking around, trying to find that particular place where she had been lucky enough to bump into Colton for the first time. It was dark, and she probably wouldn't be able to tell, but she could try. Her dark gaze was focused to the left when she suddenly collided with someone. A little gasp expelled from her lips, and she looked up... and it was like her world stopped turning. A strong sense of deja vu washed over her, and Eden couldn't help but feel in complete awe at the perfection of her current situation. Every single thing that had led up to this, this night, and the next day... it was all coming together for her in that moment. Her eyes met Colton's, and a familiar tender smile crossed her features; it was one only Colton ever saw, his smile. "We should stop meeting like this." She told him, laughing softly, her eyes glued to his beautiful face. STATUS: finished! TAGGED: colton adam mercer OUTFIT: here! NOTES: ASLDJF!

A slight breeze went through the soft night air as Colton made his way slowly through the park. The sky was cloudless, the stars as bright as he'd ever seen them. Maybe this was a good omen. The weather was perfect, really. If it stayed this way the next day, it would surely mean that everything would go off without a hitch. Even though Colton had never been the superstitious type, he liked to think that the good weather was a sign that they were not making a mistake. If the heavens saw fit to make their big day was nice as possible, it obviously meant that they weren't doing some crime against nature. Perhaps he was over thinking so small a thing, but the next day had him digging deeper into his thoughts, over analyzing them until there was nothing left. Every action that he took or every word that he spoke, he was curious as to the meaning behind them. But then he would realize that he knew all along. Even when she wasn't there, Eden was his reason. Through everything that they'd experienced, she had always been the one who shaped him, making better than he had once been. He doubted she understood the extent of the effect she had on everything he did. Colton was almost a different person by now. Someone better, made only for her. But at the same time, he was the same he'd always been. In a way, he supposed this was a good thing. After all, he didn't want to stray away from who she'd fallen in love with. Just like he'd never ask her to be any different than she was on the day he'd met her. And just like that, he was lost in the memories that they'd shared together. Her beautiful face filled his mind, leaving room for nothing else. Not even the path in front of him. He wasn't concerned with it, though, as it was nighttime and not many people were out and about. As he felt himself bumping into someone, he quickly thought that it would be his luck to barrel someone over in an empty park. Instinctively his arms flew up to steady this person and as his eyes adjusted, he found that he knew the face very well. Colton couldn't help the smile that took over his handsome face. Even in nothing but moonlight, she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. Her musical voice floated through the air and into his ears and he laughed lowly at her comment. "I don't know. I kind of like it." He responded before catching a strand of her hair that was moving in the wind and tucking it behind her ear. However, his eyes narrowed lightly in curiosity as he saw something. "What is this?" he asked, pulling out a white piece of... something. If he didn't know any better, he would say it was cake.

Eden knew, in the very depths of her heart and soul, that the day the followed the one she was in... it was just meant to be. She knew that it would be nothing less than perfect, and quite frankly, that wasn't much to accomplish. As long as Colton was there with her, the church could be burning to the ground and she would only have eyes for him, for their moment. The anticipation caused her heart to gallop in her chest, but it definitely wasn't in a bad way. She was more than looking forward to the moment where she and Colton could start their own forever. As she walked, Eden glanced down at the engagement ring on her hand. The glittering diamond was simply stunning, of course it had cost too much, but it didn't take away from it's beauty. Eden couldn't help but feel totally and completely honored that Colton would not only spend that much money on her, but ask her to be his wife. The words 'Mrs. Eden Mercer' caused goosebumps to raise on her porcelain skin every time she thought them. The name was far too good for her, but she would wear it with pride. No longer would she be Eden Lucitania - and she couldn't exactly say she was sad about it. It truly felt as though she was the person she always should have been when she was with Colton. He brought out the best in her, he was her reason for everything. He was the driving force behind her actions, her entire world revolved around him. When he had been sick, the only thought in her head was how she could make him feel better. Nevermind the effect it would have on her, it was always all about him. He was the most important thing, and he always would be. Eden loved him more than her own life, and they both knew it. As Eden felt his hands come up to steady her, she let herself lean against him, her hands fluttering up to rest on his chest. She loved that she fit like a glove in his arms. They truly were made for each other, Eden wasn't foolish enough to deny that. She felt her smile widen at his laugh, and she nodded her head. She didn't mind it either... especially not at this particular spot, in this particular time. It just seemed as though they would always be drawn back to each other. Eden's eyes followed his hand as it drew back, with a piece of white something in it. When he asked what it was, she squinted at it, and her eyes suddenly widened in horror. She shook her head, her mouth opening and then closing. "It... It uh... cake. It's cake..." She muttered, averting her gaze from his, her cheeks flushing red. She was embarassed about the entire encounter previous to this one, but she knew he would probably harass her about it until she told him. "It's a cake that a man came out of... " She muttered.

There were people who questioned him getting married at such a young age. Namely his parents. They knew how much he and Eden loved each other. They'd experienced the depth of their devotion for each other. But they were still apprehensive at something so big as marriage. He understood their worries. Not many people who married young ended up staying together for long. But he and Eden were different. They'd always been different. He had known from the very first moment that she was different than anyone he'd ever met. Colton had no doubt that they would beat the odds. They wouldn't fall apart. Simply because of the fact that they couldn't quite function without the other. Colton knew what it was like to think he was never going to see her again and it was not a feeling he ever wanted to repeat. The highlight of Colton's day was waking up to see her sleeping figure merely inches from him. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't want to be around her, to hear her laugh or see her smile. The young man was fully confident that they were making the right decision in getting married. He didn't need to marry her to know that he would be spending the rest of his life with her, but it let others know of his intentions. Now everyone would see just how much he cared for her. There was something nice about the fact that he could legally say that she was his. It was hard to dispute with the ring he'd put on her finger. The memory of when he'd given it to her brought a smile to his lips. He remembered her yelling at him (or her equivalent of yelling) for how much he'd spent on it. He'd actually been hoping she never found out since he'd known she would act in such a way. But he never thought it was too much. Nothing was ever too much for her. And he couldn't help but wonder if it was fate that brought them together in this particular spot on this particular night. He wouldn't be surprised if it was nature's way of letting them know that they were where they were supposed to be in life. As corny as that sounded. It only helped to make him even more excited for what awaited them the next day. The feeling of her hands on his chest as he steadied her sent a spark through him that he knew he would never get used to. His hazel eyes were alight as he watched her nod slowly. However, his expression turned to confusion at the white mass that was now in his hand. An eyebrow involuntarily rose as her features turned to horror. He almost didn't want to know what it was for a moment. But then she confirmed his suspicions. Why would cake be such a horrible thing? And then he realized a split second before she spoke again. "Are you serious?" He asked, amusement obvious in his voice. He shook the piece of cake off of his hand and let out rich laughter. The thought of Eden with a male stripper who popped out of a cake was just too much. "Oh, Eden." He managed before he lapsed back into a fit of laughter once again. He was able to control it after a moment and tried speaking again. "I'm sorry, babe. I had a feeling they'd pull something like that. You poor thing." He pulled her closer, running a hand through her hair gently, partially to see if there was anything else in there but mostly out of habit. "I'll make sure they never do that to you again."

Eden would always want to have Colton by her side. There was no doubt about that. He would always be there to catch her when she fell, and she would always be there for him. They had a mutual devotion that bridged between them, creating a bond that was indestructible. Truthfully, Eden didn't think that any other love could ever be as strong as there. She just didn't think how it was possible. Colton and Eden's relationship was unique in every sense of the word.
